Self-Sufficient Love
This project is about a peculiar point of view about love when, being fully passionate, it is out of the reproductive function in almost every aspect. Somebody once said that we can enjoy life as much as we get closer to death. Although I only partially agree to this statement, such a concept contains a self-evident truth: for many reasons life engages us so much – we are too busy in accomplishing tasks of which, sometimes, we are not even aware of – to be able to feel the beauty and the intensity of diving deeply in the streaming of life.
Self-Sufficient Love is a club. A very exclusive one, since you are not allowed to enter unless you have reached the age of retirement. The clubhouse is fitted with all the facilities that elder people need to conveniently practice every kind of sexual performance. No cameras or other recording instruments are allowed inside the club. Guests’ privacy and anonymity are fully assured. Medical assistance – if needed – is available. Entrance is free.
The duration of the club (how long, how many times) will be determined through an agreement among Norma Jeane, Evolution de l’Art and the collector(s).
This agreement will also include the choice of the venue, the strategy for advertising the club in the media and all the possible ways to inform senior citizens about the opportunity.
Final price of the piece will include a management budget as well as the fee for the artist and for the gallery Evolution de l’Art.
No means of advertisement will be recognized by the artist as an artwork and will have value only for its documentation nature. The collector(s) won’t be allowed to take financial advantage from this project and will be asked to sign an agreement in which he/she/they renounce to any form of commercial exploitation.
